Engines

Shelzo runs ten coding-agent CLIs. Each CLI keeps its own sign-in, configuration, and subscription; Shelzo does not proxy your engine tokens.

Install and sign in

  1. Choose an engine below. These are the same installation instructions shown on Shelzo’s Welcome screen.
  2. Run the command in a terminal. Commands beginning with npm need npm available there.
  3. Open the installed CLI and follow its sign-in instructions.
  4. Return to Settings › Engines and check again. Choose the engine when starting a chat or terminal.

Installation commands

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent, Gemini CLI, Grok Build, OpenCode, Droid, and Copilot support terminal and structured chat. Kimi Code and Muse Code are terminal-only.

Claude Code

npm i -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code

Codex

npm i -g @openai/codex

Cursor Agent

curl https://cursor.com/install -fsS | bash

Gemini CLI

npm i -g @google/gemini-cli

Grok Build

See x.ai for the Grok Build CLI. Shelzo’s Welcome screen does not provide an installation command.

OpenCode

curl -fsSL https://opencode.ai/install | bash

Droid

curl -fsSL https://app.factory.ai/cli | sh

Copilot

npm i -g @github/copilot

Kimi Code

curl -fsSL https://code.kimi.com/kimi-code/install.sh | bash

Muse Code

curl -fsSL https://dev.meta.ai/install.sh | bash

If it fails

First check that the CLI starts from a fresh terminal. Shelzo discovers local engines through your login shell’s PATH. Use Settings › Engines to check sign-in again; an unknown status does not confirm a successful login. Complete sign-in in the CLI, then restart the chat. For SSH workspaces, install and sign in on the remote host: local installations do not count.
